What is Powder Coating?

Powder coating metals is a method of finishing objects of any size from nut and bolts and small automotive parts to truck frames and large surfaces using heat cured dry powder paint.

Powder Coating is an advanced yet simple way of spray-painting a very fine, dry plastic powder paint onto a metal surface

As the powder paint leaves the spray gun, it is charged with static electricity. The charge attracts the powder paint to the part that requires coating. The part is then placed in an oven, where it bakes at high temperatures for various lengths of time.

When in the oven, the powder paint melts and flows into a beautiful and durable finish. Primers are not necessary. And there are no unsightly runs or drips, as often results with the use of wet paint. Powder coating is often used in the most stringent applications for high quality results for conscious consumers.

For example, patio furniture , garden tools, yard and kitchen appliances, automotive trim, motorcycle and bike frames, wheels, vintage car parts, are just a few of many uses. Our heat ovens are up to thirty feet by twelve by twelve foot of interior to handle very large objects.

While a powder coating finish is not completely indestructible, it is more durable than any other paint finishes. It will resist chipping, scratching, rusting, chalking, fading, cracking and chemical attacks.

Very important, powder coating is environmentally friendly. The over-spray is reused. And with no chemical solvents, powder paint does not pollute the air.
